EVELYN KLEIN
Evelyn Kleinβs passion for printmaking releases her into a world of the unknown translated through the integration of traditional processes of lithography and etching, which she combines with other techniques such as calligraphy.
Her work reflects a preoccupation with humanity and its relationship to the universe. Fragmented images of man and woman surrounded by the forces of nature down below and the power of the universe up above carry destiny: the cycle of life.
"The written word in many languages represents both my heritage and mankind's universality. The images attempt to touch the place where frontiers are nonexistent."
Evelyn uses fine transparent printed fragments of Japanese paper collaged to the painting or print in process, to add to the subtle mystery of her work.
