Ramiro de Undabetia was born in Madrid in 1952. He studied at the Escuela Nacional de Madrid from 1962-1969. He came in contact with engraving at the workshop of Antonio Lorenzo 1967 then collaborated with “el Grupo 15” from 1971-1985.

He established his own workshop to give technical classes in engraving in 1979.  Undabeytia has been a professor, teaching engraving in the Centro Cultural Nicholas Salmerón, and has worked as an illustrator of editorials.

His work is represented in official and private collections as well as in the National Library of Spain.
