Gone Fishing Stone Lithograph by David Williams David Williams was bornand raised in Dallas, Texas. After travelling around the country, he receivedhis Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Northern Arizona University with anemphasis in illustration and printmaking. He then went on to receive his Masterof Fine Arts degree in printmaking from the University of Massachusetts atAmherst. In 1998 David was hired at Northern Arizona University as AssistantProfessor to run their Printmaking program. He has been a Full Professor theresince 2009 to present where he teaches the full range of printing processes. Inhis work he specializes in traditional intaglio and lithographic techniques. Over the pastthirty-two years of printmaking my work has changed from political economicimagery, to whimsical surreal imagery, to loose, representational subjects.Throughout it all my illustration training and love of texture and line hasbeen forefront in my work. The printmaking techniques of lithography andintaglio have let me express my ideas in a manner in which I love. The rich rangeof value and interesting texture you can get creates a look you cannot achievein any other medium. My time now is separated between printmaking and sculpture.
