Etching by Anne Belov edition of 200 Anne Belov has been painting and drawing for more than 25 years. She received her BFA from Philadelphia College of Art (now University of the Arts) in Philadelphia , PA and her MFA from the University of Washington . Her work is in many collections and has been exhibited in Alaska , California , Massachusetts , New Jersey , Oregon , Pennsylvania , Washington D.C. and Washington State . Her work has been featured in "American Artist Magazine" in 1988, 1990, 1993 and 1995. Anne Belov states, "My objective is to create a sense of place and time through light, color, composition, and relationships between objects. My work contains both still life and landscape images, sometimes in the same painting. "I was attracted to the art of etching by my love of drawing, and the line illustrations of an earlier era. Building my compositions through line, texture and tonalities satisfies an impulse that is different than painting with acrylics or watercolors. It is my sincere belief that different media and techniques feed each other, and that I bring things to etching from my paintings, and then back again to printmaking." Edition Number 81

In October 1986 I backpacked from Glacier Point above Yosemite Valley to Wawona in the southwest corner of Yosemite National Park. On the second day we camped by Buena Vista Lake, below Buena Vista Peak. There was a dusting of early season snow on the granite around the lake. Fallen trees added their patterns to the reflections in the calm clear water. -Stephen McMillan
